Williams Refrigeration, a professional catering refrigeration company that has built a global reputation for manufacturing innovative and high quality products, recently held an awards ceremony to applaud their long-serving staff. Two of them, being in the company for three decades.
Karen Redhead, one of the two 30-year awardees, work in the finance team said: “My first day at Williams was on the 30th June 1986, I was nervous but can remember everyone making me feel welcome. I can’t believe how the time has flown by! “Many things have changed over the 30 years, from new products and technologies to new health and safety rules. Work colleagues change, too, of course, but this is a very friendly company and I still keep in touch with many who have left. I enjoy working for Williams and look forward to what the future brings,” she added.
Lee Cook, the other 30-year awardee said that one of the highlights of his Williams Refrigeration career was the opportunity to help set up their US office; in 1996, he spent three months in the Big Apple (New York).
It should be noted that Williams Refrigeration employs 234 people in their Kings Lynn office (England) and about 800 across the globe. In addition to Karen Redhead as well as Lee Cook, the other awardees (20 years) include: John Hopgood, continuous improvement supervisor; Simon Moore, R&D team; Tim P Smith, plant 1 operative; and Andrew Cade, plant 2 operative.
Tim Smith, WIlliams Refrigeration managing director added the following regarding the event: “I’d like to congratulate and thank all the long service staff for their amazing contribution. The length of time staff stay creates a real sense of family in the company. Even more so since we actually do have members of the same families working here – daughters, sons, fathers, mothers, cousins! This brilliant team spirit is created by the staff and it contributes directly to our success.”
